Review of the Sets Dicecovery – Fractured Universe
Dicecovery – Fractured Universe offers three different sets consisting of seven dice each. The classic “standard” assortment of dice: four, six, eight, ten, twelve and twenty sides. With double ten die, one with ones and one with tens. In short, they should cover most games that don’t require rolling large pools of dice; certainly perfect for the most famous role-playing game in the world, which sets the market standard a bit.
The three sets are Midnight Sapphire, Midnight Emerald, blue and green respectively, and The Void, red. Curiously compared to the countryside Kickstarter, only the first two sets changed their names: they were called respectively The Rift It is The Fallen. In any case, in addition to the three sets, Space Delirium also sent us all the props that we showed you in the photo. A small dice bag, a token for the heads or tails option and a pin. A sticker, a postcard and a message from William and Alexandra complete everything, the twins who created Space Delirium. Their message is certainly the most appreciated prop, although they all boast excellent quality.
Material Review of the Dices by Dicecovery – Fractured Universe
Let’s get to what interests us most: what are these dice like? Beautiful. The first answer that comes to mind is definitely beautiful. They would be worth having even just for collection. These dices are slightly larger than average, with sharp edges. They have an important consistency, yet they are very well-balanced: They roll perfectly when thrown, even d6s. Perhaps the classic pyramid shape of the d4 would have been a problem, but Space Delirium solved it with another more practical geometry. And even more captivating.
The numbers are slightly recessed and underlined with a metallic silver that contrasts perfectly with the interior, ensuring excellent readability. A very important factor, because visually these dice recall a rock around which there is dark fog. Or more properly a nebula, taking up the sci-fi theme of the entire project. Highly contrasted numbers are essential to make reading easier. Especially when the special effects are triggered.
The three sets of Dicovery – Fractured Universe in fact shine in the dark. They need to spend some time “charging” in the light; the site contains suggestions for this, advising against leaving them in the sun for too long: it “charges” them anyway, but also tends to make them fade. And you shouldn’t expect a luminescence that knows how strong, nor who knows how long-lasting. But they’re definitely perfect for a special effects moment at the gaming table.
A Priceless Style
Each set of dice arrives in its own practical bag; Space Delirium is keen to point out that it is completely eco-friendly. We would like to specify that it is magnificent packaging, which absolutely makes you regret the choice not to take a dice bag. Which we still recommend taking for a matter of practicality, and because in any case no less beautiful. However, the choice to use the symbol of is a bit curious Dicecovery to mark the minimum result, not the maximum one. Nothing tragic anyway.
If you really want to find a flaw in these dice, it is that due to their size and sharp edges, they look very similar at first glance. It takes that extra moment of attention to distinguish the d10, the d12 and the d20, in short, the dice with the least “stable” shapes. Nothing that can’t be solved with a little practice, or by each using their own set of dice without passing them around constantly. But it is the natural duty to pay for such beautiful objects, and in any case, it is enough to take a look at it in a short time.
Conclusions of the Review of Dicecovery – Fractured Universe
With the three sets of Dicecovery – Fractured Universe, Space Delirium has created some little gems. Capable of giving any gaming session the right lustre, or if necessary that flavour of deep space that they want to communicate, they are not only beautiful but also functional. They are simply unique in their kind.
Of course, these are expensive items, perhaps not suitable for everyone, but the price-quality ratio is absolutely justified. Discovery – Fractured Universe they are not those dice to be bought in bulk to fill the bag suitable for every occasion, the one we all have and which we compulsively increase. They are the dice to roll out when that character has to face that crucial gaming session. No, they won’t improve the shots, but they will make them (even more) memorable.
