Before analyzing Gummy Landing in this review, I would like to thank the author Simone Morini for providing us with a physical copy to discuss it.
If after reading this review you want to buy the volume, you can find it on the Aces Games website at the price of 15 euros in the physical version (including PDF) or 5.90 euros for the digital copy only.
The A5-format manual consists of 45 pages and immerses us in the sugary and violent world of Sweet Cherry Pie Vs Evil, exploring a new island and incredible new creatures.
A Multifunctional Product
As we will see in this review, Gummy Landing is a multifunctional product. It is a complement to the basic manual of Sweet Cherry Pie Vs Evil that we have already discussed and multiplies its possibilities.

This is a product that simultaneously is a setting, an adventure and a bestiary. However, to tackle this very rubbery expansion, it is therefore necessary to have the basic manual.
The Mar Mellato Reveals a New Island
If you thought that the Isle of Nomnia was the only one in the Mar Mellato, you were wrong. It is true that the Nomni, inhabitants of the island ruled by Queen Sweet Cherry Pie, have never ventured beyond the coasts of their lands. After all, their technology made of eggs, butter, sugar and yeast has always prevented them from sailing the waves of the Mar Mellato because, in each attempt, the boats only travelled a few hundred meters before melting into a mush of shortcrust pastry and sugar.

It wasn’t the Warrie who discovered Isola Gommosa then, but its inhabitants, the Gumnie, who landed on the Isola of Nomnia in search of a new place to live. After all, their rubber ships need not fear the Mar Mellato!
Geography of the Isola Gommosa
Just like the Isola of Nomnia, the Isola Gommosa also has its sweet geography waiting to be explored.

The Cava Arcobaleno is the quarry where the Jelly Bean, the substance from which Gumni are made, is extracted. This place is home to the Fabbriche Bon Bon an industrial complex where Gummies are assembled. The Lord of the Cava Arcobaleno is Crocosoft, while Mr. Jelly Bean is the CEO of the Fabbriche Bon Bon.
The Giungla Morta is a rotten land, strictly forbidden to enter. This degradation could be due to the pollution with which the Gumni have poisoned the island.
Marshmolo is the port from which Gumnie ships depart for all parts of the Mar Mellato. Morningum is the undisputed ruler here.
Liquiburg is the metropolis at the foot of the Gummoth Palace from which the great Gummoth, ruler of the island, reigns.
The People of the Isola Gommosa
Unlike the Nomni, healthy treats made of butter, sugar, flour, and yeast, the inhabitants of the Isola Gommosa are artificial creatures built in the Fabbriche Bon Bon. The manual specifies that there are not many varieties of Gumball; however, over the years, many unique creatures have been created. Also unique are the Five Founders, born on the Isola Gommosa.

Let’s see together which are the most common Gumnie:
- Beargum: they make up the majority of the population of Gummy Island. They are not particularly bright and tend to get angry quickly, proving to be combative and ferocious.
- Fangum: usually the leaders of the Beargums, they are two-toned sharks composed of as much evil as they are rubber. Many Fangum are employed in the Gummondezzaio where they fight against smugglers looking for Gelavita.
- Gommolem: huge Beragum made of Gelavita scraped from the mixing vats. Huge and with a bad temper, fortunately, they are less smart than the Beargums.
- Gorgum: the pinnacle of the creativity of the Fabbriche Bon Bon. Two-thirds of snakes and one-third Gumnio, very rare and roam the island, are considered mystical beings to ask for advice on the future.
These new creatures are not new game options, but opponents (or NPCs) to encounter in your adventures.
Gummy Landing Adventures Review
As we were saying, Gummy Landing is both a story and an adventure, or rather a group of adventures. Without making any particular spoilers, as is our habit, let’s summarize the two plots present in the volume.
The manual opens with the discovery of the Gumni following their landing on the Isola of Nomnia. Some Nomni explorers have spotted three ships, full of strange rubbery creatures, landing on the island of Nomnia, beyond the sticky fronds of the Spun Lands. The explorers immediately alerted the authorities to the Sweetheart, who sent a company of Warrie to investigate. It will be up to the heroes to investigate the abandoned ships and discover what lies behind this sticky landing.

At the end of the book, we find the other adventure that, temporally, follows the first. Once the motivations and plans of the Gumni have been discovered, it will be up to the fearless Warrie to cross the Mar Mellato and reach the Gummy Island to face, perhaps, the Five Founders.
Gummy Landing Review Conclusions
Entrusted to the aesthetic care of Lodovico Sartirana, Gummy Landing is a mix of colours and delicious creatures. The layout is maintained in two columns and the pages are boxed, as in the basic manual, by the graduated notches of the ingredients. In this manual, however, the results of any tests have not been reported, so the basic manual or an 8-sided die remains necessary.
Extremely practical to carry, solid and beautiful to browse, Gummy Landing gives hope for a prolific production because you can never have too much sweetness, especially in a game!
