In this review I will tell you about Last Sabbath Scenarios, the adventures for the esoteric role-playing game created by Atropo Kelevra and Valentino Sergi, embellished with illustrations by Jessica Cioffi, aka Loputyn. Alongside these scenarios, I will also show you The Witches’ Tarot, the Last Sabbath tarot, illustrated by Sara Trabucco. Last Sabbath Scenarios is an expansion of six flyers enclosed within a box that offer new settings and mechanics ready to use for the coven. Each scenario brings themes inspired by different genres, with innovative tools to enrich the narrative. Each scenario has a different tone to personalize the experience. Some scenarios also introduce new mechanics, useful for those who want to enrich the flow of the narrative and have further innovations compared to the basic manual.

New Adventures for the Coven

Here’s a brief introduction to the Scenarios:

• Maleficia: the coven will find itself facing the Artificer, the one who modifies the dimension in which they move. This scenario introduces the mechanics of The Map of Destiny, allowing you to influence the narrative in cunning ways. Inspired by stories like Maleficent.
• Salem Burns: the coven faces prejudice and will try to save a village that is the victim of a threat through magic. Inspired by historical facts such as the Salem Witch Trials.
• School of Magic: apprentice witches who learn to manage magic, includes mechanics to learn to manage power through lessons and exams. Inspired by best sellers like Harry Potter.
• The Whispering Evil: an antagonist who will try to steal power from the coven for evil purposes. A new method of divination, the Cursed Pendulum, is introduced to understand the degree of corruption of witches during the adventure. Inspired by films like Carrie.
• Magic Powers: witches with powerful powers will find themselves solving moral dilemmas about the use and responsibility of magic. Inspired by action stories like Doctor Strange.
• Rebel Heart: a limited edition scenario in which the coven will be involved in a macabre cult where they will be forced to face its followers. Affiliating with a cult and participating in dark rituals will drag the protagonists into a relentless nightmare. The scenario guides the initiation of sisters and presents several sects to face. Inspired by folk-horror contexts such as that of the film Midsommar.

Last Sabbath Tarot Cards

I have to say that Last Sabbath Tarot deck stands out for its truly refined aesthetics. The cards are illustrated by Sara Trabucco and feature a red metal lamination finish (also present on the box).

Looking at the deck, we see that it is made up of Major Arcana, which are dedicated to the figures of witches. The illustrations are evocative and consistent with the concept of the game.

For collectors, these are definitely worth taking!
