Before we dive into the review of the adventure for D&D5e Tuldamaand’s Cave, I would like to thank the publisher The Velar Company for sending us a digital copy.
This adventure is designed for a party of 3-5 players of the sixth or seventh level. It can be set in La Torre, which we have already talked about, inserted into your favourite campaign or used as a sequel to Giraffes and Barrels of Rum.
If you would like to buy it after this review, you can find it directly on the publisher’s store for 3.99 euros.

Adventure, Exploration and a Bit of Horror
The adventure involves the characters coming across unmistakable tracks while crossing an easy mountain pass. A group of five horses had travelled the same path just before them, pulling a kind of litter that was so heavy that it had left obvious ruts along the way.
The incipit appeals to the curiosity of the characters who, simply leaning out, will see the tied horses left with a crude litter. The probable descent to find out what is happening will lead them to the discovery of a stone entrance, the beginning of the cavern.

This is where the exploration of the tunnels in the mountain begins, which I won’t tell you about as not to spoil the gaming experience. You have to know, however, that the main themes of the plot are gloomy omens and forbidden cults.
Tuldamaand’s Cave Aesthetic Review
The supplement consists of about 30 A4 pages with a two-column layout, like many of the products of this kind on the market. Tuldamaand’s Cave also maintains the aesthetics of the editorial line by interspersing the text with boxes devoted to tips for the master and to the creatures that will be faced during the adventure.

The choice of graphics reminiscent of parchment paper embellishes the aesthetics. The illustrations, generated with AI, are very colourful and to the point to describe the game moments and convey the gloomy atmosphere of the exploration of the mountain.
Game Materials
Tuldamaand’s Cave does not include pre-generated characters. At the end of the volume you can instead find the two maps necessary for exploring the environments are available.
This highly functional choice allows them to be extrapolated from the text and printed out, so that they can be presented directly at the table or uploaded to whichever gaming platform you intend to use.

The DM is constantly supported in the narrative by numerous information boxes detailing not only the scenes but also the NPCs that punctuate the plot. This choice can prove to be a double-edged sword, especially for novice narrators. The overabundance of hints can actually be confusing.

My advice is to read the plot and its hints carefully first, to decide which elements to emphasise in the game.
Conclusions from the Review of Tuldamaand’s Cave
To conclude this review, I can say that Tuldamaand’s Cave is an interesting adventure. It is also very intriguing if you want to discover what lies behind the events introduced in Giraffes and Barrels of Rum. It deals with themes that are easy to understand and the NPCs are well structured with sufficiently good motivations.

Perhaps it is a little too guided, risking to confuse novice masters. In any case, it remains interesting if you want to add a dark element to your campaign.
