Before starting this review of Tome 3: Throwback of the Drakonia setting, I’d like to thank Gamers Hunter Edizioni for providing us with a copy in physical format.
If after reading this review you would like to purchase Throwback you can find it on the Gamers Hunter Edizioni shop. The package containing the digital format of the single volume, physical and PDF of the rules costs 20 euros, while the digital format alone costs 7 euros. We were also sent DrakoByrdh, a collection of five dungeons that won the “Dungeon DrakoByrdh” contest, which I will briefly talk about later.
I would also like to remind you that on our website you can find the review of the Drakonia game rules.
Review of the Aesthetics of Tome 3: Throwback

First of all, I would like to say that this volume follows the same layout and font type as the previous ones.
The cover, made by Milivoj Ćeran, is definitely very evocative. In particular the red color of the magical trail that surrounds the protagonist of the image definitely captures the attention. The internal illustrations are by Jessica Prando, Fabio Porfidia and Moreno Paissan. The latter also made the map of the island of Blootar and Clachendur, which is absolutely my favorite inside the manual.

I think there is great creativity in the choice of illustrations and that their quantity is appropriate for the number of pages. In some cases, perhaps they would have only benefited from a more harmonious insertion between the text and the various boxes.
As with the previous volumes, the layout and font allow for a fluid reading of the text. The strong point, however, remains in my opinion the title on the cover; the metallic effect immediately attracts attention.
An Intriguing Development
The story within the tome picks up where the previous one left off. Finally, two of the three fragments of the map of Ak’ar Gast (which the characters were looking for) have been found. After a particular encounter with the queen’s handmaid, however, it is discovered that the third part of the map has been burned and is no longer recoverable.

But maybe there is a way to recover what was lost. The guild leader can open a dimensional space passage with a spell to bring back what is missing. The ending, which I obviously won’t spoil, will be a thrilling and adrenaline-filled race against time.
Personally, this is the story I’ve preferred of the three so far, both for the gap that will open and for the fast pace.
I would also like to remind you that, even if this adventure is part of a larger story, it can also be played individually as each chapter is self-contained. This volume will obviously be followed by others.
DrakoByrdh: Five Additional Dungeons

As previously mentioned, together with the main volume we received a small 18-page stapled book containing five nice dungeons. These won the “Dungeon DrakoByrdh” contest, based on the exclusive adventure of the same name released and played at Play Festival del Gioco 2024. The main illustrator is once again Jessica Prando. The dungeons contained within are:
- Benvenuti al Circo delle Meraviglie
- Le Tre Prove
- RattoBoom!
- Il Sentiero per la Corona
- Dungeon di Ariek
They are not adventures of great length, but fun ideas that can be inserted into a longer campaign.

Conclusions of the Review of Tome 3: Throwback of Drakonia
The game world is well made and this volume also introduces valid and interesting content. You should not expect complex or too articulated stories, but fantasy plots to play with your party.
I definitely recommend this book to those who appreciate fantasy and light stories to play in a few hours. But also to those who are passionate about the world of Drakonia, which never stops expanding.
